Who are you?
You are an excellent full stack software developer with a computer science background or equivalent. You are a great sparring partner to equally experienced developers and a great mentor to those who are getting there. You complement developers coming from other more domain-driven backgrounds, such as bioinformatics, with your knowledge of algorithms and time complexity, databases, performance optimization, and cloud infrastructure.
Who are we?
The Hyve is an international IT company employing talented software engineers, solutions architects, and data engineers. We are dedicated to delivering solutions that support scientists in life sciences and healthcare R&D using open-source software, open data, and open standards. Our vision is to enhance the quality and impact of biomedical research by providing biomedical informatics solutions, and we believe that open source is the way to do this.
The Genomics and Target Discovery (GTD) team provides solutions to our clients looking for better ways to analyze molecular data to facilitate both selecting the best treatment for a patient and developing new treatments. The core products of the team are cBioPortal, for improving cancer care, and the products developed in the Open Targets consortium for disease agnostic target discovery.
With the exponential increase in data volume, coupled with an increase in data complexity and the challenges associated with the fact that biological data is inherently messy, there are many technical challenges to be faced, and we can use your help!
