Jessica obtained her B.Tech in Biotechnology in 2019 from Vellore Institute of Technology, India, and her Master's degree in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from VU Amsterdam. Her first Master's internship at the Systems Biology Lab, VU, focused on Spatio-temporal dynamics of cross-feeding lactic acid bacteria. The Hyve's mission of enabling collaborative open science resonates with Jessica's personal goal of improving access to science and technology to help those in need, which motivated her to apply to the company for her second internship, during which she worked on implementing single-cell data in cBioPortal.
After her internship, Jessica joined The Hyve as a Data Engineer and is working on single-cell data and its integration with cBioPortal. She likes participating in group fitness classes like Zumba and spinning and wants to visit a museum every weekend. She also enjoys watching stand-up comedy, performing spoken word and writing in her leisure time.
